A ex-chanceler da Alemanha, Angela Merkel, está preocupada com a influência de Elon Musk na política do governo de Donald Trump, do qual o bilionário fará parte.

Merkel citou Musk ao ser indagada sobre se o retorno de Trump ao poder nos EUA significava um desafio maior do que seu primeiro mandato;
A ex-chanceler, então, citou uma “aliança invisível” entre Trump e grandes empresas do Vale do Silício, “que têm enorme poder financeiro”;
Ela prosseguiu pontuando que, nos 16 anos em que liderou a Alemanha (2005-2021), aprendeu ser necessário haver equilíbrio entre os interesses “dos poderosos e dos cidadãos comuns”;
Para a alemã, a crise financeira pela qual o mundo passou entre 2007 e 2008 explicitou como a política é importante na condição de “última instância capaz de endireitar as coisas”. “E quando essa última instância é muito influenciada por empresas, pelo capital financeiro ou por tecnologias, isso é um desafio desconhecido para todos nós”, ressaltou;
Merkel também pontuou que, “em uma democracia, a política nunca é impotente contra as empresas”.
